Hello, my name is Anthony Anderson. I am a Political Science PhD candidate at the University of California, San Diego. I am a Cota-Robles Graduate Fellow who is interested in political behavior, political communication, and humor in American Politics. My dissertation seeks to 1) measure humor as a latent psychological variable using the Bradley-Terry model, 2) establish a formal Bayesian framework as to when politicians may utilize humor to help navigate political scandals, and 3) empirically demonstrate implications of the model through experimentation and social media analysis. On this site, I look forward to chronicling my research and academic accomplishments.
